High Balance manufactures a line of high performance sports eyewear that look as good as they perform. Yet despite their good looks, the website for this fashion-forward company would hardly have warranted a second glance.
With little more than a two-page online brochure, their original website was both limited and uninviting, not only in esthetics but also in functionality. With only a baseline of company information and little focus on their attractive eyewear line, High Balance’s site failed to fully convey what makes HB sunglasses and goggles so unique. With the company looking to attract new representatives to market its line – and an important trade show just weeks away – it was imperative that they address these shortcomings as quickly as possible.
With an eye toward reinvention, Somethumb designed a new website that would not only showcase and define High Balance and their spectacular line of eyewear, it would also innovate new and integrated functionality allowing for a well-deserved level of service and simplicity.
The first order of business was to take the barebones information from the original website and expand and incorporate it into a user-friendly, eye pleasing new design.
A professional photographer was hired to better capture the beauty of each pair of sunglasses and goggles. The design elements and features of each product were gathered, and a glossary of those features and their benefits was compiled for easy reference.
In addition to an expanded product section, the company itself would also be more prominently featured in the new website – a vital component when looking to attract dealers to your business.
The look and feel of the new website would be every bit as important as the information it provided. The previous website, which was minimal and dated, was replaced with an aggressive and modern new design.
Rotating graphics highlight various eyewear styles with images and text that convey action, movement, and recreation.
Products that had previously been lumped together on one page are now featured individually, including a product detail page for each, with photos of available colors and options as well as the items included with each kit. A full description of each pair of sunglasses and goggles now accompanies an easy-to-read bullet point list of features unique to that particular style.
A new Features page highlights in greater detail the benefits of each feature found on the various eyewear styles.
Detailed information about High Balance as a company can be found on their new About page, their Blog, as well as a downloadable Media Kit, inviting potential dealers to take a closer look.
